Boat Captain
Ferreira Construction Co. Southern Division is located in Stuart, Florida. We specialize in maritime construction in FDOT, municipal, commercial, and residential construction. We serve all areas of the Treasure Coast and are currently seeking a full-time, experienced Boat Captain.
Candidate:

Must command vessels in coastal waters, oceans, bays, lakes, rivers, or waterways.
Steer and operate vessels, using radios, depth finders, radars, lights, buoys, or lighthouses.
Dock or undock vessels, sometimes maneuvering through narrow spaces, such as locks.
Adjust navigation according to weather conditions.
Inspect vessels to ensure efficient and safe operation of vessels and equipment and conformance to regulations.
Read gauges to verify sufficient levels of hydraulic fluid, air pressure, or oxygen.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of signaling systems — Semaphores; Ship’s whistles; Signal flags; Signal light controls
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data and property.
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.

This position:

Requires 5 years experience and 100 ton masters license.
May require out of town (Florida) travel.
May require working various shifts during day evening and weekend hours at various locations
Includes some miscellaneous labor and other duties as assigned
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be able to pass a drug screening

We are currently actively recruiting for Captains for a +30m Leopard Motor Yacht based in Southern Florida running regular Private and Charter trips to the Bahamas.

The yacht is powered by a Kamewa Propulsion system so experience with these systems is a must.

The ideal Captain would have:

• Previous experience with Kamewa Propulsion Systems

• 500grt License or higher

• Experience navigating South Florida and Bahamas

• Experience with Leopard yachts is a plus

• 3 years as Captain is a minimum

• Preferably based in South Florida
