Everglades National Park Boat Tours Everglades City, FL USA

Full-Time

Everglades National Park Boat Tours needs USCG licensed Captains to start immediately and for coming season. We run 4 tours a day on 45 foot Corinthian Catamarans with 2-250 Yamaha’s which carry 49 passengers. You will have a mate with you at all times to maintain safety and keep vessel clean and maintained. We have nearby housing available which is a room with kitchen and laundry for $600.00 per month which is taken out weekly from pay if housing is needed. Tours are one hour 30 minutes and fully narrated by Captain. The pay is $150.00 per day plus tips shared with mate, tips are very good in summer and excellent during winter. Ferry Operator I

Description of Duties/Essential Functions This position operates and maintains a power-operated ferry boat; ensures safety of ferry traffic through supervising proper loading, maintains careful equipment checks, and skillfully operates ferryboat

Performs needed maintenance and repair of equipment; supervises helpers during operation of the boat

Minimum Requirements Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school

Requires possession of a valid license to serve as Master on vessels of greater than 95 gross registered tons or Master of towing vessels of greater than 95 gross registered tons upon oceans, near coastal, inland, Great Lakes, western rivers, Illinois River or a limited geographic area. Credential limited to the Kampsville or Brussels Ferry, issued by the U.S
Coast Guard. Requires working knowledge of boat and ferry operations and river traffic operations. Ensures compliance with departmental safety code

Marine Service Engineer

Are you a self-motivated, practical, and well-organized individual who loves life around the water? We are a busy regional boat dealership looking to recruit an experienced Marine Service Engineer to join our busy team.

Key Tasks include:

· Ability to fully commission new sailboats, including rigging, stepping and tensioning masts;

· Marine plumbing and fresh water systems;

· Generator installs and basic maintenance;

· Removing and replacing equipment such as pumps, filters, batteries etc;

· Marine engine maintenance, basic repairs and alignments;

· Performance of gelcoat and GRP repairs;

· 12v, 24v and 240v electrical installations and repairs;

· Installation of marine electronics and ability to diagnose and fix faults in electronics. NMEA certification a bonus. If not, willingness and sufficient aptitude to attend and pass NMEA certifications;

· Mast work and rigging;

· Solar panel and wind generator installs;

· Varnishing, painting and basic carpentry;

· Seacock installation and servicing;

· Winch servicing;

· Repairs to steering systems, rudders, and bow thrusters;

· Excellent boat handling capabilities;

· Ability to work to a schedule and ensure that jobs are completed on time every time;

· Managing the job from start to finish: Preparing quotes, ordering parts from the most appropriate supplier, performing the work, liaising with customer, and ensuring that accurate invoice and job sheet is completed;

· Ability to liaise with and manage sub-contractors;

· Ability to safely maneuver, deliver and boats;

· Ability to train customers on how to use sailboat systems / equipment;

· Responding to customer enquiries in a professional manner.

Key skills

· Proficiency and understanding of sailboat systems. Candidate MUST HAVE EXISTING EXPERIENCE in the marine service / engineering industry and be able to complete the Key Tasks unsupervised;

· Ability to work to a schedule and ensure that jobs are completed on time every time;

· Managing the job from start to finish: Preparing quotes, ordering parts from the most appropriate supplier, performing the work, liaising with customer, and ensuring that accurate invoice and job sheet is completed;

· Able to perform a wide variety of service work in a, organized, careful, and considerate manner;

· Trustworthy and dependable;

· Self-motivated and able to work independently;

· Outstanding customer service skills;

· Detail-driven and well-organized;

· Able to work occasionally during weekends / evenings;

· Able to pass a drugs test and clear background check;

· Excellent boat handling skills;

· Captain’s license would be a bonus;

· Physically and mentally able to board and navigate around boats and docks in a safe, careful, and considerate manner.

After successful completion of the probation period, candidate will be eligible to join the corporate boat membership program which enables employees to use club boats in their free time.
