Seeking a part time Licensed Captain for a privately owned small 36.5 foot Pursuit located in Deerfield Beach. Starting late April. $200 for an up to 8 hour boat trip and $250+ for over 8 hours. General duties included: The ability to operate, clean and maintain the boat while overseeing the safety of all passengers on board for day and evening trips. Knowledge of area waters for Intracoastal cruising. This privately owned 50’ Marquis, Triple IPS Drive, vessel is docked at owner’s home in Ft. Lauderdale. The selected candidate should have own residence in Ft Lauderdale area as he/she will not live on boat, or in home.
Vessel duties will include piloting the vessel when in use by owner as well as maintaining engine and mechanicals; keeping vessel clean – inside and out, including staterooms and baths, and provisioning The vessel will be brought to Long Island, NY, for summer months. Lodging for the Captain will be provided when out of Ft Lauderdale vicinity. The captain is sole crew member.
Household duties:
The captain will be responsible for ensuring that the home is maintained and kept up to standard and that everything is in working order when the owner and his family is in residence. This is accomplished by overseeing the maintenance, upkeep of the house, and pitching in to ensure it’s accomplished. This includes coordinating with other vendors who may provide services, as well as being personally responsible for maintaining deck and pool areas; keeping grounds neat and clean at all times, and providing light maintenance duties as needed.
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications, skills and characteristics:
Licensed and experienced captaining a similar vessel, and able to provide references
Be able to communicate in English
Have valid driver’s license
Be authorized for employment in US
Non-smoker
Microsoft Office experience (Word, Outlook) would be a plus
And must be personable and able to interact with owner, owner’s family and friends in a positive, helpful and friendly manner at all times.
